Being in a relationship can be the best experience in the world. Lets be honest though, there are times when it can also be very challenging. I have now be married for over 20 years and I wouldn’t trade my wife and our time together for anything in the world. But, I would be lying if I said it is or has always been a bowl of Gods joy.
The truth is we have had many ups and downs. Some days it has been grueling just to stay together.
I have learned a few things over the years though. Such as, its not nearly as important to be right as it is to be happy. In other words I had rather let her be right and not lose a precious day of happiness, over making my point about something.
It is very possible to win the argument but lose the day.
I share with you this scripture to bring light to the context.
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. – Proverbs 15
I like how this passage doesn’t really speak to the context of what is said but instead advises us to how we should give speak.
The next time you find yourself in a potential heated discussion give a soft answer, a gentle response, and see if your not happier in the end with the results.
God bless you, thanks to share your thoughts and comments below.
